This LARP samurai sword is similar to a hand-and-a-half sword, meaning you can wield it with one or both hands for control and battlefield versatility.

Ryugan means “the dragon’s eye,” a hint of clever fantasy detail well-suited to add some flair to your character. This katana has a regal appearance that’s confident and powerful. Like true katana from feudal Japan, this LARP bastard sword has a curved, single-edged blade. This blade has a stunning golden finish to resemble gilded steel with a jagged hamon line for added detail, making it look like it has been expertly crafted by master smiths. For added safety, the tip of the blade has been reinforced with Kevlar. This makes it excellent for slashing and piercing attacks.

All along the blade is a single groove called the hi. Below the blade is a golden blade collar, called the habaki. The tsuba, also known as the guard, is a series of interconnected golden rings. As an added layer of detail, these rings are intricately engraved with flowers. The tsuba can be removed for modifying your own DIY LARP katana.

Reinforcing the guard is a contoured piece called the fuchi, referred to as the hilt collar and golden just like the guard. The handle is wrapped in black canvas similar to the tsuka-ito style to pay homage to traditional katana designs. Beneath the handle wrapping is the handle itself, crafted to resemble golden wood. At the bottom, the kashira, also known as the pommel, is golden.

Care Instructions:

• Latex weapons do need to be maintained to a certain degree. We offer a 100 ml LARP Protection Gel Silicone (MCI-3722) in our LARP Accessories section. We recommend you use the silicone on a regular basis. The silicone will keep the coating flexible and increases the lifetime of the weapon. It also prevents the coating from drying out, and improves resistance to wear and tear.
