If you’re looking for a knife that blends fashion and history, then consider the Seax Knife for your collection. It’s a tribute to the Anglo-Saxons who settled Britain and forged kingdoms in battle.
Historical Design Meets Modern Craftsmanship
Inspired by the saxes, sometimes called scramasaxes, of the Viking Age, this sax dagger is a weapon forged as one piece from carbon steel. It has a full tang and carbon steel is renowned for its strength and durability.
The flat, unsharpened blade has a single edged design reminiscent of Saxon knives from history. This flat, unsharpened edge is thick and completely safe for reenactment and costuming. A narrow fuller is on each side of the blade. The fuller removes unnecessary weight without compromising the blade’s integrity or strength. On one side, there is a small fuller near the guard. The drop-point tip is inspired by Viking-era knives and seaxes.
Moving down to the hilt, the single brass guard at the top is an oval that tapers in front. Each side of this guard is notched with angled chevrons for added detail. Your one-handed grip is secure with the genuine horn handle. The texture of the horn lends a natural, rugged finish to the design. At the bottom is a brass pommel that flares out slightly to keep your hand from slipping off the handle. As an added detail, the handle has a narrow fuller just like the blade.
This seax dagger comes with a dark brown leather sheath. At the top, this sheath has a belt loop for sliding onto most belts. The sheath also has a reinforced collar stitched at the top for accommodating the guard. When sheathed, the blade might not fully insert into the sheath, this is normal. When worn on your belt, the sheath holds your knife straight up and down.
A Tribute to Early Medieval History
Great for characters from the Viking Age, the Migration Period, and other parts of early medieval history, this reenactment seax complements your ensemble with a hint of regal style. The brass fittings add a hint of charm to your noble, warrior, or wealthy merchant characters alike. Wield it as an Anglo-Saxon thane, or keep it at the side of your Viking warrior or chieftain character. The flat edge makes it safer to handle and the weight provides a realistic balance toward the hilt.
For knife collectors, you can add this Anglo-Saxon knife to your collection and display. Show it off as a spark for historical conversation. Set it up in your collection of daggers and historical weaponry.
