The Russian Dragoon Officers Shashka is the weapon for anyone wishing to look like the fearsome Russian cavalry group, the Cossacks. Made from 1566 high-carbon steel, this functional sword takes its design from the sword of the Dragoon officers, the evolution of the sword wielded by the Cossacks.
This Russian sword has a curved blade with a deep fuller down most of its length ensuring that the blade is lightweight, despite being thick. At the base of the blade, there is an engraved insignia of the crest of Tsar Nicholas II.
Next, the sword continues with a brass D-shaped guard. It protects the wearers hand from an enemy attack. There is a hole in the end of the guard near the spine. A leather tasseled lanyard hangs from it. Then, the hilt has a ridged, rosewood grip. It angles at the end with a brass pommel. Perovskia flowers, or Russian sage, adorn the hilt in addition to lovely scrollwork.
Finally, this military sword comes with a black, leather-covered scabbard. It has a brass chape, throat, and other fittings, including a belt ring. Additional flowers adorn the fittings. This elegant sword makes a fine addition to any sword collection or gift for a weapon aficionado.
