It takes its inspiration from the secret blades of nobles in the late 18th and early 19th centuries. Sword canes were the elites answer to laws or social expectations that prevented them from outright carrying a dress sword.
This functional swordstick has a rosewood cane shaft and a Damascus steel blade. The double-edged, rapier-style blade releases from the shaft with a hidden button. Part of the rosewood cane forms the hilt of the sword. A cupronickel ring decorated with scrollwork separates the blade and handle as well as conceals the release button. There are matching rings further down the shaft.
At the top of the cane is an octopus handle. It forms the pommel of the sword. The octopus has a realistic, highly detailed design. It elongated head forms the grip for the cane.
