There were weapons other than swords on the medieval battlefield. Some wielded spears with tips like the Blunt Medieval Spearhead. Made from carbon steel, this spearhead has a thick, blunt tip for safety. Based on a design used for game hunting, it features a leaf-shaped blade. There is a long ridge down the center of the blade. At the base of the blade, there is a socket for attaching it to a haft, not included. On the socket, there are two rounded wings. The wings are slightly wider than the blade. Historically, the central ridge gave the spearhead more penetrative power while the wings were useful for parrying weapons and helped to prevent over penetration. In addition, the socket has a slit down the side which allows it to fit better on a shaft, not included. This spearhead is a great item for DIY projects, reenactments, or displays. The Blunt Medieval Spearhead is also a wonderful collectible piece.

This item is handmade, therefore, it may vary slightly from what is shown above.
