The blade has a fuller down its length. Engraved runes adorn the blade. Next, the sword continues with its distinctive crossguard. The arms of the silver-colored crossguard angle towards the blade. On one side, there is a gold-colored disk at the center of the crossguard. Half of the disk has a semi-circular cutout which is on the blade side of the crossguard. The other half features green and red accents. Additional green accents adorn the ring around the cutout.
On the other side, the crossguard features a smaller golden detail with black and green accents. The detail is wider towards the hilt and narrower towards the blade. Next, the hilt has a black grip that is straight for half its length. The grip gets narrower towards the pommel. The pommel has a conical, scent stopper-style shape. A wire spirals around the pommel. Finally, this sword comes with a matching scabbard. The black scabbard has a metal chape and throat. Ornate engraving adorns both pieces. I recently became a Witcher fan by catching up on the Netflix series and am 3 books into the novels. I have fallen in love with both, and I so wanted a replica of Geralt’s swords from the Netflix series. I purchase both Geralt’s silver and meteor (steel) swords from Dark Knight Armoury. I received both very quickly, packaged very well. I know it is a low cost display type sword, so my expectations were tempered accordingly. However, I was really impressed by the design and quality of this sword. I feel like it is a true and accurate representation of the screen used sword – especially for this price point. The most impressive element was Renfri’s brooch, it has a lot of detail and looks to be a very close replica of the show version. I was even more joyed by the incredibly balanced feel of the blade when wielding it.
However, one drawback from complete happiness with this sword was that the blade (unlike the Silver sword) was not 100% true. After handling the sword, my eye could catch a bow in the blade. I measured the bow with my straight edge tool, and it seems to have a quarter inch bow to the blade. I SOOO wish this had not been the case, as I was so pleased with the other aspects of the sword. I hope this is not the case with all the Steel versions, as I may try again someday to purchase another and hope it is 100% true. At this point I will accept the bow in the blade, as I will not be earning any coin by dispatching monsters with this sword. I do feel a little more like Geralt each time I hold it! Thanks so much!
