Crafted from wood with a steel boss and steel trim, this Viking shield is designed for reenactment battles. It’s shaped like a round Viking shield from early medieval history. In the middle, the yellow serpents around the riveted steel boss represent Jormungandr. Also known as the World Serpent, Jormungandr is the serpent of colossal size coiled around Midgard. Like its Norse mythology inspiration, these serpents are depicted biting their own tails.
This Jormungandr shield is rimmed with steel that have four points facing the center boss. Like the boss, the steel rim is riveted to the shield for added durability.
