Just like its bigger brother, this this Teutonic Crusader Dagger embodies the look, style, and spirit of the same blades that crusaders would have preferred to wield in their holy wars, as they fought to reclaim both land and salvation from their enemies. Unsurprisingly, many knightly orders that sprung up during the Crusade eras were created not because of the need for more knights and more military might, but instead, out of a need for more facilities and more protection for the innocent. Most knightly orders, the Teutonic order included, were created to protect pilgrims, build hospitals, or provide service to those who were in need, and it was only in times of need did those orders take up arms. But when they did take up arms, they fought for righteous causes that made them a fury on the battlefield. This dagger is one such weapon that any Teutonic knight would have favored as a secondary side-arm, being both small and light-weight, making it a quick last-ditch weapon when all else has field. Looks can be deceiving, though, because in the right hands, a dagger is just as deadly as a sword. This little blade possesses, like its bigger brother, a forged high carbon steel blade with a fuller that runs down about two-thirds of the blade, serving to make it light and nimble, as well as sturdy and strong. The wood wrapped hilt encases full tang construction, while the straight cross guard is perfect for providing a bit of defense to the hand. The pommel echoes the symbol of the Teutonic knight, displaying a small black cross. Included with the dagger is a leather-wrapped wooden scabbard, complete with metal throat and chape. The dagger measures 17.5 inches long and features a 12 inch long blade. No crusader should ever set foot outside their quarters without their arms, and thanks to its small size and light weight, this Teutonic Crusader Dagger makes for a great addition to any Crusaders list of weapons, or to any enthusiasts list of impressive collectibles.
Please note that this dagger is designed for combat and comes with a sharp edge. Whether it is used for practice, stage combat, or actual combat, it should be handled with due care and caution.
