Iconic Late Medieval Design

Forged from 18-gauge mild steel, this sallet is suitable for medieval cosplay and LARPing. At the top, it has a comb-like crest that tapers into the tail at the back. Like its historical inspiration, this reinforced tail is short and flared following designs from Italy and Germany. There is an adjustable chin strap on the inside for an easy fit. There is also a padded lining for additional comfort. This product is handmade, so it may vary slightly in shape and thickness.

Leading into the forehead is a scalloped, reinforced plate that gives you better protection just above the eyes. Underneath the plate are bar grills that lend the design its name. Instead of a bevor or hinged visor, these bar grills provide protection and breathability. At the back, there is a series of articulated plates called lames protecting the back of the neck.

• This armour will arrive to you covered in protective oil. While this oil can be removed, it must be replaced with another protective maintenance product to protect your steel armour from rusting. Occasional oiling is necessary for the proper maintenance of this armour. When storing this armour, protect it from oxidation by coating it with machine oil.
