Painted shields were a favorite of the Vikings. The Red and White Striped Viking Shield Christmas Ornament depicts one possible version. Made from solid walnut, this Viking ornament comes as a single piece. The circular ornament has a hole at the top. The hole has an attached jute twine string for hanging.

This Christmas ornament has a one-sided printed design. The Norse design looks like a shield. It features an antiqued brass stud in the center and an engraved border around the outside. The stud looks like a shield boss.

In addition, engraved lines create the look of planks on a shield. Each horizontal section, or plank, alternates between red and white. This Dragon Forge Leather exclusive ornament looks great hanging on a Christmas tree as well as with other holiday displays.
