Crafted from wood and reinforced by steel fittings, this Viking shield is designed for reenactment battles. It’s shaped like a round Viking shield from early medieval history. Please note this shield comes coated in a protective layer of oil. The wood construction ensures it’s manageable without sacrificing protection, while the steel fittings add strength and durability. The back of the shield has a sophisticated black finish.
In the middle, the circular center boss is riveted to the shield on all sides. Six riveted rays form a concentric sunburst around the center boss. Each riveted ray also has a boss in the middle. In between each ray, there are pairs of rivets. These not only add style to the shield, they also add another layer of protection. The shield has a solid steel rim, perfect for deflecting blows. At the back, the metal handle gives you a firm and secure grip. This grip is riveted to the shield on either side, ensuring the handle does not fall off when in use.
