The maru gata style means it’s designed like a circle with two perforated holes on either side. A dragon, depicted flying among the clouds, decorates the tsuba with half of its body at the top and the other half wrapping around the bottom. The dragon is painted in shades of antiqued gold for a stunning amount of detail.

Moving down to the hilt, the handle is wrapped in black silk. Underneath the black silk wrapping is white pebbled ray skin menuki with a golden accent.
