The French Maiden Ensemble is an excellent example of what a typical medieval woman might have wanted to wear, this three-piece outfit combines a touch of femininity with a rugged, simple design that allows for a wide range of activity. This outfit is made up of a chemise, a skirt, and a triangular shawl which can be worn on the shoulders or around the head, each of the three pieces are made up of light weight muslin cotton. The chemise is brown and features decorative buttons down the front, as well as a thin line of yellow trim around the neckline, the short sleeves are simple and loose, with no decoration to speak of. The waistline is decorated by an attached wrap of hanging brown fabric. The skirt is light gray and features a double-lined X-pattern as trim around the hem of the skirt. Also included is the light gray triangular shawl, which can be wrapped around the head like a cowl or worn however the woman wishes. The French Maiden Ensemble is loose-fitting and quite comfortable to wear, it is a great outfit to wear to the fair when you’re looking to blend in and look like a common serf, instead of an opulent noble.
