Further down, the golden habaki, or blade collar, has a notched trim texture. The tsuba crossguard is fashioned in the maru gata style. The maru gata style means it’s designed like a circle with hollow cut-outs designed like gusts of wind. The guard is gold and black. Moving down to the hilt, the handle is wrapped in black silk. Underneath the black silk wrapping is white pebbled ray skin menuki, also known as the decoration beneath the handle wrapping. The kashira, also known as the pommel, has a notched ring with silk looped through it.
