The unsharpened, double-edged blade has a narrow fuller down the length. The blade profile has a diamond-shaped cross section reminiscent of historical medieval European daggers. The fuller removes excess weight from the blade without compromising its integrity. Moving down to the hilt, its nickeled finish is designed to resemble antique silver. In the middle, the quillon block is carved to resemble the triple lion heraldry of House Plantagenet, the royal house of England during Richard’s time.

Each quillon is fashioned in the shape of roaring lion’s heads for chivalrous detail. The short handle is embossed with rings to secure your one-handed grip. In between the rings, the handle is braided in a lattice pattern for added detail and texture. At the bottom, the scent-stopper pommel is carved with flourishes. Each side of the pommel has a ringed crusader cross, symbolizing Richard’s faith and valor throughout the Third Crusade.

This Richard the Lionheart dagger comes with a scabbard. The scabbard protects the blade when sheathed, allowing you to safely store it in your collection. At the top, the topmount is carved with flourishes and braiding around the letter R, standing for “Richard.” The endmount at the bottom is also carved with flourishes and braiding around the letter L, standing for “Lionheart.” The endmount is further bolstered with embossed rings and a cone-shaped finial.
