Forged from 1045 carbon steel, this katana shows off a traditional craftsmanship dating back millennia. Carbon steel is renowned for its strength and durability. This decorative katana, also known as the Japanese longsword, can be wielded with one or both hands.

The blunted blade is curved slightly like true uchigatana from feudal Japanese history. The length of the blade is regal blue. The uchigatana is another traditional term for describing a slightly curved Japanese katana. For added style, the blade has Japanese kanji lettering on the base.

Further down, the golden zinc-alloy habaki, or blade collar is anchored to the guard by the notched seppa and intricately carved with a fragmented design. Seppa are two small washers placed on both sides of the crossguard. In between the guard and the handle is a red fuchi, also known as the spacer between the blade and the hilt. The red zinc-alloy tsuba crossguard is fashioned to look like a grooved hexagon.

Moving down the hilt, the wooden handle is wrapped in white tsuka-ito cord over a blue ray skin texture. Embossed on the pebbled ray skin are two brass studs as menuki. Menuki refers to the decoration on the handle just underneath the tsuka-ito wrapping. The kashira pommel is red.

This royal blue katana comes with a black wooden saya scabbard. Swirling lines of blue add color to the scabbard, and the lower half has a blue finish. The scabbard has white cord sageo, referring to the cord tied around the scabbard for tying onto your belt. The sageo is tied to a wooden kurigata, known as the protrusion on the scabbard.
