The Roman gladiator got its name from the gladius, a popular sword at the time. The Murmillo Gladiator with Gladius Statue depicts one such warrior. Made from cold cast bronze, this hand-painted statue a figure wielding a gladius in its right hand and carrying a shield called a parma in its left. This figure wears a helmet. The helmet completely covers the face and has a hooked crest on top. A birds face caps off the crest. He also has on a single pauldron and greaves. In addition, this figure complements the Murmillo Gladiator with Hasta Statue (WU-2062), sold separately. Add this statue to any classical home or office décor. It makes a great collectible.
