Iconic Sugarloaf Design
Forged from 20 gauge steel, this crusader helmet is similar to the iconic great helms worn by crusaders in medieval history. Designed as a strict upgrade to the great helm, the sugarloaf helmet was intended to help deflect or lessen the impact of enemy attacks.
This crusader sugarloaf helm has the characteristic conical top and round sides. In front, the iconic crusader cross accents the horizontal eye slits. Each arm of the cross is riveted to the helmet for reinforcement. The vents in the helmet are also shaped like crosses, five on each side.
Inside the helmet is an adjustable leather chin strap. There is a steel ring inside the helmet to hold the extra length when the chin strap is secured. This knight helmet also has leather suspension liner, so you can wear it without an arming cap or add your own preferred padding before battle.
