Starting with the Valkyrie herself, she wears a ridged helmet with wings. The ridge is fashioned like a fearsome beast connecting to the nasal guard and the brow. On each side of the helmet are great wings reminiscent of popular depictions of Valkyries. The wings have carved feathers for added texture and realistic depth. The wings also form the cheek plates. Her long, flowing hair hangs down from the helmet over her shoulders, with two braids on each side of her chest armour.

She wears intricately detailed shoulder armour secured around her neck with a harness. The armour and the straps on the harness have golden knotwork. In the middle, the round harness pin is accented with a Valknut symbol, representing death and the afterlife in Norse mythology. Pins on the shoulders are decorated with golden triskeles, symbols of rebirth and renewal. Her chest armour is also accented with golden knotwork.

The plaque is designed like a round Viking shield. This shield is bordered with Nordic runes. There are two animals around the Valkyrie, both prominent symbols of Viking culture. On the viewer’s left, there is a silver cawing raven. The raven is in flight with wings and a body designed to look like knotwork. On the viewer’s right, there is a silver howling wolf. The wolf has bronze fangs and knotwork throughout its body. At the back, there is a wall mount for hanging.
