Bring the epic climax of the Trojan War to life with these Hector Fighting Achilles Statues. These statues are a stylish statement of martial prowess, Greek tragedy, and Trojan valor.
A Tribute to the Iliad
Crafted from polystone, these Greek warrior statues have a magnificent bronze finish. Every detail is painted by hand to showcase a true passion for art. The design depicts Achilles, champion of the Greeks, dueling Hector, prince and champion of Troy. Their battle shaped the fate of Troy and the Aegean forever afterward. Starting with Achilles, this bronze Greek statue wears a plumed helmet. The helmet is carved to look like a pseudo-Corinthian style helmet. The plume starts at the top of the helmet and ends at the lower back. Two lion accents are on the helmet’s cheeks. Intricately carved trim is seen on Achilles’s helmet. At the back of the head, Achilles’s realistically carved hair spills out from underneath the helmet. This adds another layer of depth to the design. Further down, Achilles is shown wearing a linothorax, also known as a light cuirass. The cuirass has realistic texture and carved trim along the waist of Achilles. A red baldric is carved to look like it’s hanging from Achilles’s right shoulder. Down the left, Achilles’s baldric holds his sheathed sword.
In his left hand, Achilles holds his famous aspis shield. The arms have realistic musculature. The left arm is through a carved strap and gripping a carved handle on the shield, adding depth and dimension. The shield is designed with intricate textures on its surface. It’s designed as a sunburst with studded concentric rays going out. The shield also has scratches carved onto its surface, making it look like authentic battle damage. In his right, Achilles holds a spear complete with a long leaf blade, two ball point accents near the spearhead, and a ring accent near the grip. Further down, Achilles is wearing a red skirt. The skirt has an intricately carved symmetrical shape at the center. The tassets on the Achilles statue also have intricately carved trim. The greaves have intricate trim and embossed filigree. At the base, a single Spartan sword inspired by the Greek kopis lies near the feet of Achilles. This clever little detail references Spartan martial culture. Beside the sword is another detailed greave. A plaque on the side reads “ACHILLEUS” in Greek font. The base is textured to look like real stone.
Moving onto Hector, this prince of the walled city is also wearing a plumed Corinthian style helmet. The plume is shorter than that of Achilles. Hector’s helmet is also globular with a longer nose guard in the front. Around Hector’s shoulders is a cloak with a carved Spartan shield clasp holding it at the chest. It’s a Spartan shield because it has the iconic Lambda symbol. The cloak is also textured to look like real fabric. Hidden within the cloak at Hector’s side is a sheathed sword, another clever detail that adds depth and dimension to the piece. This Hector statue is wearing a muscle cuirass, and a bronze medallion adorns the center of the chest. Hector’s arms have realistic musculature. A ringed bracer is on the right hand of this Hector statue. In his right hand, Hector holds a spear with a long leaf blade and two ball point accents just below the spear head. In his left, Hector holds the iconic hoplon, a broad convex shield common among Greek warriors of the Trojan War period. The shield has carved Trojan symbols and battle damage on its surface. The horse in the center, symbolizing the Trojan Horse, is surrounded by carved lines and concentric patterns for added depth. A double layer of markings forms the shield’s trim. Inside the shield, two carved straps and a handle add depth and realism. It makes it look like Hector is holding the shield with his arm through those straps.
Hector is wearing pteruges, also known as a soldier’s belt or straps that hang from the belt to protect the lower torso. These realistic pteruges have studded accents on them. Further down, Hector is wearing greaves with symmetrical trim carved into the design. At the base, the iconic Spartan helmet lies on its side to represent the fallen. A realistic piece of rubble is next to the helmet, symbolizing the inevitable fall of Troy. Both Hector and Achilles are wearing iconic Greek sandals with realistic bands and straps. A plaque on the side reads “HECTOR” in Greek font. The base is textured to look like real stone.
