The guard extends outward and protect the users hand on the edge side of the knife. It has a concave curve on the handle side. This curve continues onto the underside of the handle. The horn handle has another curve. These curves make it more comfortable to hold. Pins secure the horn in place. At the end, the handle has a lanyard hole. Lanyards do not come included. Finally, this knife comes with a black leather sheath. The sheath secures the knife in place with a strap. The strap has a snap.
