Comedia del Arte Gown

During the 16th Century, as the Renaissance was spreading across Europe, the Italian form of theatre known as comedia del arte, full of humorous stock characters, began to gain popularity. Those days may be gone, but you can still look as lovely as a Columbina with the Comedia del Arte Gown. This beautiful dress is composed of a black velvet bodice and a red taffeta skirt, with a black and silver plant-like arabesque covering the stomacher, center panel of the skirt, and sleeve flounces. This gown laces in the back and includes a sash that allows the waistline to be adjustable. A five-inch modesty panel can be placed against the back of the dress to cover the skin along the lacework. The outfit includes a six-inch red taffeta bow for the hair, but the feather plume, ruff collar, and mask are not included.
