Step into the age of the Renaissance wielding the 16th Century Italian Storta Sword by Cold Steel. This Italian Storta, designed by Luke LaFontaine, is a fantastic reimagining of the iconic curved Renaissance sword.
Inspired by the Swords of Italy
Forged from 1060 high-carbon steel, this LaFontaine Italian Storta sword takes inspiration from 16th Century Italian influences and earlier falchion designs. Carbon steel is renowned for its strength and durability. Like other historical Stortas, the sharpened single-edged blade is curved toward the top with a distinct double fuller up the spine. The false edge near the tip has a concave section.
Moving down the sword, the S-shaped crossguard sweeps up toward the blade and toward the handle simultaneously. Another shorter quillon curls out from the front guard and ends in a solid block. Both quillons in the S-guard end in notched, faceted pommels. These miniature pommels even have peen blocks for added detail.
The brown hardwood handle has a notch in the middle for accommodating a one or two-handed grip. If you wield this sword two-handed, be aware it will be a closer hold than might utilize the pommel. The pommel has a unique design like the quillons of the crossguard with a notch, faceted design, and peen block.
This late medieval Italian sword comes with a black scabbard. This scabbard has a steel throat and chape. The scabbard has a ring attached to the throat for attaching to your sword belt.
