Medieval BowsAn archer lives or dies by his bow. It is his or her primary weapon and for this reason it must be a bow that the archer knows and has experience with. Pick your bow from Dark Knight Armoury and you will certainly get a bow that is both trustworthy and functional. No matter what style of bow you are looking for, you can find it here. We carry a wide assortment of wood bows to ensure that even the most discerning of tastes can be accommodated. Whether you are looking for fantasy influenced bows, traditional longbows, horse bows, or Recurve bows, you can find them right here in the traditional bows section. And because many bows can be so dependent on personal factors, many of our traditional bows are custom made, to ensure that the bow you need is the bow you get. It does not matter if you are an experienced archer or just a beginner, Dark Knight Armoury has a bow you can trust and depend on. Before ordering your own bow, make sure you read each description carefully to determine how long it will take to receive your traditional bow, and also take the time to determine and double check your draw length and draw weight. How to Tell your Draw Length and Draw Weight: Your Draw Length measurement is how far back you draw the bowstring before releasing it. To find your draw length, stand and extend both arms out in front of you. Measure from your chest to the end of your middle finger and subtract 2 inches. This will find your approximate draw length. The draw weight determines how much weight in pounds that you will be using to pull back your bow at the specified draw length. For instance, if you choose a draw weight of 30 and have a draw length of 28 inches, when you pull the bowstring back to 28 inches, you will be pulling 30. Draw Weight is hard to determine if you are a beginner so 30 is an excellent place to begin and is great for target practice. For hunting, a bow of 40 draw weight or higher is usually recommended.
