In Norse mythology, Yggdrasil, also known as the World Tree, is the very center of the cosmos. This World Tree Plaque is a rendition of that ancient symbol, depicting the tree, along its denizens, its memorable moments, and the worlds that it touches. This world tree is depicted as a large tree, fully in bloom and with tangled branches and roots, both. Set at the center of the tree is a great, runed ring, through which hangs Odin, pierced by his own spear, in an attempt to gain the nine songs and nine runes that gave him power in all nine worlds. Above Odin is the great eagle, as well as the small squirrel, Ratatosk, who carries messages up and down Yggdrasils trunk. Beneath Odin stands the three Norns, who pour healing waters to keep Yggdrasil strong, while also healing the damage that the serpent Niddhogg inflicts by chewing on the trees roots at the bottom. These norns stand atop Midgard, the world of the living, and beneath, lay Yggdrasils roots, which are home to Hel, the world of the inglorious dead. Flanking hell is Asgard, with its Rainbow Bridge, and Jotunheim, with Mimirs head. The plaque is crafted entirely from fine resin materials, and it is offered in a wood grain finish that perfectly complements its design. Fans of Norse mythology will no doubt be in awe of this World Tree Plaque, because so rarely is Yggdrasil represented so artistically, so accurately, and so appealingly.
