Named not for the region it hails from but for the woman who made it famous, the Toledo Gown is a reproduction of the elegant gown worn by Eleanor di Toledo, the Duchess of Florence from 1539 to 1562, when she was laid to rest. Despite being a funeral gown, this dress features all the grandeur and elegance that would have befitted a woman of such regal and powerful station. This reproduction is made from luxurious cotton velveteen, which ensures that the dress is soft to the touch, as well as lined in satin for comfort and style. The dress features a square neckline decorated with horizontal trim. The bodice matches the trim on the neckline, featuring three linear decorations, one down the center of the bodice and the other two down the flanking sides. The sleeves are slashed to allow a chemise to puff through, while also featuring 28 attractive pearl buttons. The skirt matches the design of the bodice with solid coloration and a central decorative line running down the center of the skirt. Here, the Toledo Gown is shown with several additional accessories, including a chemise, a corset, a bum roll, and a hoop skirt. Please note that the dress does not include these additional garments. Eleanor di Toledo was well-known in Florence to have favored the most stylish of garments, and now, the last dress she ever wore can be one of your own very best dresses to wear when you want to show off a regal and elegant style.
