In Victorian times, playing music was a popular form of evening entertainment. Musical instrument purchases and repairs can be made at Swifts Stringed Instruments, a local shop where artisans craft fine violins and other stringed instruments. A sign on the side of the illuminated porcelain shop reads, C.D. Swift, Master Luthier, and a hanging sign shaped like a violin appears just above. The detailed interior scene through the front window shows some of the fine musical wares of this London business.
