This Seated Freyr Statue has the look of fine Norse craftsmanship. Its overall look, fine detailing, and wooden finish make it seem very much as though it were carved from a block of wood, which makes it a rather desirable piece for any enthusiasts. This statue is devoted to Freyr (sometimes simplified as Frey), who was the Norse god of sun, agriculture, fertility, and prosperity. Freyr is the brother of Freya, and the husband of the giantess Gerd, whom he traded his great magic sword for. In this statue, he is depicted sitting on a throne, holding his magic sword and accompanied by the dwarf-made boar, Gullinbursti, which he rides into battle. Carved into his throne are Norse designs, Futhark runes, and scenes that pertain to the myths involving him (the back features an image of Freyr with his wife, Gerd). The sculpture is crafted entirely in fine resin materials, and it features a wood grain finish that makes the statue look like authentic Nordic carvings. Authentic style makes this Seated Freyr Statue a stellar addition to any enthusiasts collection, as it draws on Old Norse design to create the god as he would have been depicted by the very peoples who worshipped him.
