Known for his tales of mystery and the macabre, Edgar Allan Poe is considered the inventor of detective fiction. This Pallas Athena Nevermore Raven Bust embodies his best known piece, The Raven, a narrative poem published in 1845. Pallas Athena, in marble hue with golden embellishment, is joined by a large black raven. Before her, resting on the plinth which says Nevermore, is an open book. The book displays the final stanza of The Raven. Crafted from polystone, this gothic home decor piece is hand-painted in realistic tones. This literary decor item exhibits intricate detailing, from the gilded animal designs on Athenas helmet to the aged appearance of the plinth base.
