Equal to six pennies or half a shilling, the sixpence is the smallest silver denomination in the Shire. The Hobbit Sixpences Set includes collectible coins from the years 1404, 1405, 1406, and 1407 of the Third Age by Shire Reckoning. Each year features a different tree on its reverse, so this currency set is complete with all four possible tree designs. The trees represent the four Farthings of the Shire and the cardinal directions. The East Farthing features the year 1404 and the elm tree. The South Farthing goes with the year 1405 and the willow tree. The West Farthing features the year 1406 and the oak tree. Finally, the North Farthing pairs with the year 1407 and the pine tree. All Hobbit Sixpences are struck in .900 pure silver. The metal coins come with a Certificate of Authenticity in a gift folio that shares information on their history and designs.
