These Decorated 16th Century Spanish Gauntlets by Marto are typical of later Spanish plate armor. A defining feature of these gauntlets is the separate, articulated fingers, which protect as well as provide a wide range of movement. These gauntlets are made of steel and feature rich engravings across the back and edge of the gauntlets. These featured engravings would not have detracted from the gauntlets functions, making this pair more reminiscent of a generals armor, or a recognized hero, perfect for decor and decoration, and most importantly, admiration.
