The Black Prince sword is a late 14th century Hand and a Half Sword Type XVa. The original sword, which rests in a private collection in England, is thought to possibly be the sword of Edward the Black Prince. The Black Prince, son of Edward III and father of Richard II, was known as a great warrior. The sword was removed from its resting place during the English Civil War, with Cromwell blamed for its disappearance. Our design features a distilled taper 33.25-Inch high carbon steel blade with strong tang that is peened onto the pommel. The handle is hardwood wrapped in leather. The crossguard and pommel are solid steel, polished and fitted onto a full tang that is peened at top of the pommel for strength and durability. This sword features a hardwood scabbard wrapped in leather and complete with an adjustable diagonal suspension to fit your needs. This is a unique design as well as very functional for the owners who possess one.
