The Axe of Thrain Copper Coin commemorates the rule of Thrain II during the dwarves exile from Erebor in the Third Age of Middle Earth. Made from solid copper, this die-struck coin was made with traditional coining techniques. It has an eight-sided design.

In the center, it depicts a double-bladed axe head. Around it is the phrase Baruk Khazad, which translates as Axes of the Dwarves. On the other side of the coin, there is an anvil. Above the anvil is a star design representing the Arkenstone. Around it is the phrase Thrain Turgul Y Erebor, meaning Thrain King Under the Lonely Mountain.
