Fairies can seemingly embody any concept in nature, and this one embodies the dark beauty and grace that can be found in spiders of all sorts. This Aracnafaria Statue depicts a beautiful fairy that could almost be the human form of a widow spider. This statue is inspired by and modeled after the same titled illustration by artist Anne Stokes, and it remains true to her original design. The statue has a sinister style, depicting a fairy as she stands atop gothic stone, in front of a great stone window. The fairy herself dresses in an oil-black dress that clings to her pale skin, just like a spider web clings to stone. Her hands rest atop rails that sit at either of her sides, while her beautiful red and black wings emulate the look of stained glass and are held open for all to see. Crawling up the column at her side is a black widow spider, from whom the fairy draws much of her form and inspiration. This statue is crafted in polystone, which is a variant of cold cast resin that is mixed with powdered stone to create a finer finish and feel. It is also hand painted, and so features rich coloration as well as impressive detailing. This fairy statue stands approximately 9.125 inches tall. Not all fairies are playful little things that embody innocence and joy. Some, like this Aracnafaria Statue, are a bit darker and a bit more predatory, although like any fairy, they always retain a natural influence as well as an impressive show of beauty.
