World War Knives

The way that war was waged has always been subject to change, and in the bygone eras of World War I and World War II, things were very different indeed. The military has virtually always issued knives to their soldiers, but the World War knives come with a special significance, if only because they fell into more prominent use because of how battles were fought. At Dark Knight Armoury, we carry a number of knives that are patterned after the same blades used by those soldiers who fought in these great conflicts, and in the design of those knives, we can glimpse how different combat truly was. Trench warfare was one of the more common styles of engaging an opposing force in World War I. Small trenches were great for providing cover, but if the enemy reached your line, they were also anathema to larger firearms like rifles. And with pistols in short supply, soldiers turned to fist-fighting and knife-fighting to dispatch their enemies. Thus, the knives of World War I are distinctive for their deadly design, as many trench knives, as they came to be called, were designed to punch through armor and helmets, while also possessing features that made them deadlier when used in hand-to-hand combat. World War II started to bring about a change in trench warfare, as knives gradually began to change along with the way that war was waged. Many of the knives you will find here are fully functional, although some are designed to be more decorative than others. History buffs and collectors will surely find something to love in this collection, as it holds knives from the various forces that fought on both sides of the wars, and even those just looking for a good, solid knife will not be disappointed in what they find here. So if you want a good soldiering knife, look no further than Dark Knight Armoury, because we carry an assortment of World War knives that were good enough back then, just like they are still good enough for the modern-day warrior.
