Scottish, Celtic Swords and Claymores

The single-most recognizable sword out of the selection of Scottish and Celtic swords that we offer here at Dark Knight Armoury is the claymore. Made famous by movies like Braveheart, it has become a fan-favorite. But it is by no means the only Celtic sword or Scottish blade that we offer. So for a tour of sword history, circa Celtic style, take some time to browse through this section and see what is available. Another popular sword is the basket hilt sword, a design favored by Scottish nobles for its strong combination of offense and defense. Also found here are a variety of other swords that were used by Celtic people throughout their years of battle. Some sword have unique blade patterns that are wavy and curved, while others have straight edges, so much so that they resemble battle swords of the medieval era. Some even go back as far as the La Tene culture, featuring angular, leaf-shaped blades with antennae pommels! More historic and aged pieces often feature a brass finish as well, to emulate the common metal of the age! Others are made from steel - some are carbon steel and thus are perfect for reenactment and use, while others are stainless and are made for decoration and display. Each sword will note its material, and thus tell you what it can be used for. If you find yourself looking for a weapon worthy of William Wallace or Robert the Bruce, or if you just need something to suit your Celtic look for the fair or reenactment, then Dark Knight Armoury has you covered with a wide variety of historic and impressive looking Scottish and Celtic swords.

"Not only was Joseph willing to help look for something appropriate for this project, when asked, he actually went and got each piece we were looking at so that he could measure them and give me the dimensions. I used up an extraordinary amount of his time. He was knowledgeable, patient and pleasant throughout all my questioning. If Joseph is the example of your staff, kudos to you! He was amazing! "
