Our custom English Style Longbows are modeled after those made of white woods, such as Elm or Ash. These were occasionally used when Yew wood was not available. These woods were not as elastic as Yew and required a slightly different tiller in order to function properly. Bows made from these woods also did not require horn nocks as the wood was considerably harder than Yew. It is a great bow for target shooting, hunting, or reenactment. The bow is 72 inches in length and up to 1 1/2 inches in width at the handle, with a maximum draw weight of 45 pounds. The bow is flat on the back, round on the belly, and is made from Red Oak backed with linen.

Our English Longbow does not have an arrow rest, but is a shoot off the hand style bow. A bow stringer and instructions are included. The bow is permanently finished and requires no maintenance, other than regular care and proper storage. This bow is great for target practice, SCA events and Archery competitions, certain events and hunting laws may require specific draw lenghts and draw weights, if you are purchasing the bow solely for that purpose, be sure to check what the requirements are first.

This is a custom made item and may take 2-3 weeks before shipping. Delivery time may vary due to volume of orders and the season you are ordering in. Custom items are non-cancelable or returnable unless there is a manufacturing defect. We also offer a 1 year warranty on this bow in case of any defects. If this bow breaks or does not function properly as a result of manufacturing defects we will replace it. These cases are handled on a case by case basis. Remember to always unstring your bow when you are not using it and never fire the bow with out an arrow.
