Given that there are no surviving artifacts of this weapon, exactly what it looked like is anybody's guess but evidence seems to suggest it was a very short bow. This design is based on a four foot bow made from Elm but in this case is made from linen backed Red Oak, which is very similar. A very strong short bow, it pulls between 40 and 50 pounds. No matter what your draw length, this bow should only pulled to 20 inches or less, allowing anyone to shoot it. If you cannot pull to the full twenty inches that's okay, just draw as far as you can and release. This weapon is designed for snap shooting at distances up to 15 yards or so which makes it ideal for hunting in thick brush, reenactment, or just target shooting. This bow is designed to NEVER be pulled more than twenty inches, doing so will void your warranty.
Our Welsh Short Bow does not have an arrow rest, but is a shoot off the hand style bow. A bow stringer and instructions are included. The bow is permanently finished and requires no maintenance, other than regular care and proper storage. This bow is great for target practice, SCA events and Archery competitions, certain events and hunting laws may require specific draw lenghts and draw weights, if you are purchasing the bow solely for that purpose, be sure to check what the requirements are first.
We offer a 1 year warranty on this bow in case of any defects. If this bow breaks or does not function properly as a result of manufacturing defects we will replace it. These cases are handled on a case by case basis. Remember to always unstring your bow when you are not using it and never fire the bow with out an arrow.

How to Tell your Draw Length and Draw Weight:
Draw Length: Your Draw Length measurement is how far you draw the bow back before releasing it. To find your draw length stand and extend both arms out in front of you, measure from your chest to the end of your middle finger and subtract two inches. This will find your approximate draw length.
Draw Weight: This is how heavy (in pounds) you will be pulling the bow back at your specified draw length. If you choose 30# and have a draw length of 28", when you pull the bow back to 28" you will be pulling 30#. Draw Weight is hard to determine if you are a beginner, 30# is good to start with and is great for target practice. Usually 40# and higher are recommended for Hunting.
