Crusader Helmets and Knights Helmets

When it comes to Crusades era gear, one of the most iconic and well-recognized pieces is undoubtedly the helmet. And here at Dark Knight Armoury, we offer a wide selection of crusader helms, ranging from classic great helmets to closed helms and more, all designed to further your Crusades era look, and to keep your noggin safe from impact, too! The earliest form of the Crusaders helm was the Great Helm. Made from heavy steel, this helmet was cylindrical in shape and flattened on the top, having been designed for maximum protection. And it did provide solid protection, although because of its weight, it was often worn only immediately before and during a battle. In later Crusades, the sugar loaf helm and the bascinet were the helmets of choice. The Sugar Loaf helm was a variation of the great helm, featuring similar design but a more conical top for added protection, while the bascinet is a close variation of the traditional visored knight helm, offering solid protection as well as better ventilation, which made it infinitely more comfortable to wear. All of the helmets offered here at Dark Knight Armoury bring a sense of realism to your look and to your collection, and all make for solid display pieces and costume elements. And some are even made from quality steel, to better ensure that, if you wear one into battle, it will keep your head relatively safe from impact, too! So if you are into Crusades era reenactment, or just into the Crusades era, period, then you could not ask for a better accent or collectible than one of these fine Crusade helmets.
