Leather Breastplates |
A breastplate is a plate or set of plates that covers the front of the body from the neck to a little below the waist. Breastplates are the oldest pieces of body armour and were worn in the middle ages. Our leather breastplates are hand crafted from 13/15 ounce quality armour grade leather. Our leather breastplates are great for LARP and LRP events as well as SCA events. Our Leather breastplates are custom made to your measurements to ensure a good fit. Leather Brigandines |
Brigandines were armour that was used in Europe for the 13th to the 15th century. Leather brigandines are a sleeveless vest, with steel plates or leather plates inside of a cloth or leather suede. Our leather brigandines allows re-enactors flexabiltiy while providing protection to the upper body. Our leather brigandines are made of 13/15 ounce armour grade leather and come in colors black or brown. If you are looking for a coat of plates or a durable leather brigandine, Dark Knight armoury is your number one source for quality leather armour. Brigandines were commonly worn over a gambeson and a chainmail shirt. This form of protection was commonly used by soldiers ranging in rank from archers to knights, most used by Men-at-arms. Most wore a brigandine, along with plate arm and leg protection, as well as a helmet. |

A leather cuirass or leather harness consists of both the breastplate and backplate that are fastened together by straps and buckles.
